FIFA Have Approved Ademola Lookman Nationality Swap Application Giving Him a Greenlight to Play for Nigeria

Ademola Lookman is a native of London born to Nigerian parents raised and bred in Peckham, England.

According to the recent sports report, Lookman who is currently on loan to Leicester City from RB Leipzig has switched his nationality from England to Nigeria. FIFA had the winger Ademola Lookman application to change his nationality to represent Nigeria instead of England approved and this was confirmed on early Thursday.

If you could recall in the last FIFA U20 World Cup, Ademola Lookman as part of England's superb title win in 2017 alongside the likes of Dominic Solanke, Kyle Walker-Peters, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and others. Ademola Lookman featured 11 times at U20 to U21 level for the England Young Lions team, scoring one goal under Aidy Boothroyd the manager.

The 24 years young Ademola Lookman application was approved because has not played for England's senior team. This was the same footstep taken by Everton winger Alex Iwobi's in representing England at the youth level before going on to represent Nigeria at the senior level.

Ever since Ademola Lookman was discovered in the England Youth team, Nigeria has been looking to have him to her side. 'We are aware of Lookman's desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a process to it.

'After this process, then comes the consideration and decision of the head coach (Gernot Rohr) on whether or when he deems it fit to get him involved.'

Nigeria will hope to get Lookman into the squad quickly as they hope to qualify for this coming winter's World Cup in Qatar, with the Super Eagles set to confront Ghana in a two-legged world cup qualifier play-off in the following month.

This surface after a disheartening Africa Cup of Nations outing, which saw them crash out at the round of 16 levels subsequent to tumbling to a 1-0 loss by Tunisia in spite of partaking in a fantastic group stage record.
