Football Update: La Liga Has Been Given a Green Light to Resume June 8th

According to Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, La Liga is most likely to return starting from June 8^th.

If you could recall that on March 23 La Liga was suspended due to the global health issues surrounding Covid-19 with Barcelona two points ahead of Real Madrid in table with 11 matches still left to play by all teams.

Meanwhile, the was a great excitement among the Spanish football lovers around the world when news was released to the public, one of them came from La Liga president Javier Tebas, who stated that,  

"We are very happy for the decision… it is the result of the great work of clubs, players, technicians, CSD (National Sports Council) and agents involved. but we cannot lower our guard, it is important to follow health regulations and ensure the pandemic doesn't come back."

This was Tebas reaction towards the news on twitter.

Also, the have been a recent report that most of the La Liga clubs are currently training in small groups of up to 10 people, having initially returned to individual training in early May.

Tebas has also, repeated his wishes to monitor matches every day once the play starts. “That's what I hope," Tebas said.

 "We shouldn't have any problems playing on Mondays across the eleven rounds of matches we have left to play.

"I hope for some sense from the Spanish Football Federation on this, because it's very important for us to be able to give both our national and international broadcasters, and fans across the world, football on as many days as possible to ensure as little disruption as possible."

According the global health issue statistics, Span has been the most affected country in the world due to coronavirus outbreak which originated from China with more than 28,000 deaths and more than 234,000 cases of infection diagnosed. Meanwhile, the great news is that, the daily death toll has been steadily reducing, with 56 deaths registered on Friday.

Also, Spain has put in place some measures that would enable them to ease one of Europe's strictest lockdowns, with the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona now allow up to 10 people gathering from Monday as they move into the principal period of a de-heightening.
