According
to the latest information gathered regarding 2019/2020 champions league, UEFA
has confirmed that quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played as the eight-team
knockout tournament in Lisbon, all ties will be in single-leg fixtures.
This
implies that eight teams remaining in the competition after the conclusion of
the round of 16 will take part in a straight knockout tournament between August
12 and 23.
Meanwhile,
the remaining last-16 second leg matches, including Manchester City v Real
Madrid, Bayer munch v Chelsea, Barcelona v Napoli and Juventus v Lyon will take
place on August 7 and 8.
As
for the time being, Paris St Germain, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig
are the four clubs who have already guaranteed their respective places in the
last eight champions league fixtures.

Though,
UEFA is yet to confirm if those matches will take place at the respective host
stadiums, or in Lisbon. According to UEFA, the decision on whether the
outstanding Champions League last 16 second legs will be played in host
stadiums or Portugal will be made before July 10.
As
we all know, Manchester City’s will have to face Madrid, Chelsea as well will
face Bayern Munich in their second leg, having lost 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Juventus
v Lyon and Barcelona v Napoli fixtures also have to be played to get the last
eight.
At
the same time, the Europa League will take place across four venues in Germany
between August 10 and 21 from the last eight games onwards.
If
you could recall, about Six fixtures – including Manchester United’s versus
LASK and Wolves versus Espanyol – are already at their second leg stage.
While
the remaining fixtures match between Sevilla and Roma and Inter and Getafe are
yet to play their first leg fixtures.
According
to UEFA, the was a medical protocol approved in regards to this decision and detailed
guidelines will be finalised in the next few weeks to ensure that a thorough
sanitary plan is being put in place to protect the health of all participants
to UEFA matches when the competitions resume.
The
spokesperson went further to state that, they will have regular assessments on
the situation across the continent and they will liaise with local authorities
to see when spectators could gradually return.
A
decision has also been reached regarding the women champions league game.
According to UEFA, all remaining matches in the Women’s Champions League will
be played as a knockout tournament in Bilbao and San Sebastian between August
21 and 30.
