We are 'Hopeful' that Neymar Might be in the PSG Squad Against Real Madrid in the Champions League Clash Says Pochettino

If you could recall, the Brazilian Neymar has not been in action for PSG due to an ankle injury suffered during PSG 3-1 Victory over Saint-Etienne where he was stretchered off of field since the end of November last year’s 2021.

The good news is that Pochettino the PSG manager has hinted that Neymar might be in the squad for the next champions league match fixture against Real Madrid this coming Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Neymar has returned to full training since last week, leading to an assumption that he might be featuring against the Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Pochettino, speaking after PSG's 1-0 victory over Rennes on Friday night, gave an update on Neymar's possibility of returning to action for PSG. Below are his statements;

'You have to be careful with expectations, then it's not reality,' the Argentine said. Everyone creates their own expectations. The expectation is something that is not supported by science and reality is something else.

'It may be there. Evolution is very good and he may be in the squad. Hopefully, because he's an important player for us.'

Is no longer news that the Champions League are set to return to action and PSG will be hosting Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes in their first leg of the round of 16 clashes on Tuesday evening, before going to Bernabeu (Real Madrid) for the second leg in three weeks later.

Despite Neymar's absence over the past two months, the PSG team have gone unbeaten in Ligue 1 and they have extended the lead to 16 points on the top table, meanwhile, they have been knocked out of the Coupe de France by Nice last week.

Brazilian superstar who recently celebrated his 30 years birthday last week had only netted just three goals in 14 matches this season before his injury last November.

Neymar hasn’t scored a goal in his last eight Champions League appearances; this has been his longest ever drought in the competition. We are hoping he returns to action on Tuesday and finds the back net.
